I did this drawing of my old college football coach. He wasn't really an American Icon, but I kinda think that he thought he was. And who the hell was I to disagree with him.
He did have a monster "saddam" mustache. In fact, the mustache was really the only iconic thing about him.
Funny side story, his mustache was a three time All-Star third basemen for the Houston Astros and also won a couple of National Championships in Steer Wrestling. His chest hair was once ranked #3 in the AP college football poll, but was denied the honor of participating in the 1983 Sugar Bowl when it was revealed that his chest hair had been illegally recruited, and had used anabolic steroids.
